The Alternate Routes headlined a night of stripped-down folk-rock at Fete

This past Tuesday at the Fete Lounge in the Olneyville section of Providence, The Alternate Routes headlined an intimate night of stripped down folk-rock that pleased the ears. Dylan Sevey and Sarah Blacker rounded out the bill for what was to be a great evening of fantastic songs. Chairs and tables were set for a romantic experience and musical love was abundant at Fete this past Tuesday.

Dylan Sevey

Riding off the heels from his awesome performance with The Gentlemen this past Friday at AS220, Dylan Sevey started the show off right with an acoustic guitar and his voice that's as smooth as silk. "My Enigma", "Dreams I Dream About You", "I Can't Feel This Way Forever", a rendition of The Beatles' "Don't Let Me Down", "We Can Get Things Right" and "Yearlong Autumn" left people wanting more, if you haven't had the pleasure of seeing Dylan live it's simply something I highly recommend you do more than once. Dylan Sevey & The Gentlemen will be playing at Local 121 with Shotgun and another act yet to be determined on April 13th, come down and get your dose of rock & roll that guarantees a fun time.

Sarah Blacker

Boston's Sarah Blacker went up next with her captivating tunes and beautiful voice and had me entranced right when she started strumming her guitar. "Pluggin' Away", "Over This Hill", "I'm Like A Train My Lord", "Shining Giant", a cover of Ray LaMontagne's "Hold You In My Arms", Shiver" with Tim Warren and Eric Donnelly from The Alternate Routes, "The Most Beautifil Thing", "Perfectly Imperfect" and "These Summer Nights" were exquisite, I definitely want to see Sarah next time she plays in Providence. Sarah has a new album out called Precious Little Things, if it's anything like her live performance then it's a must have for any music enthusiast.
