According to Cutler, The Same Thing Project — which he founded in 2016 —  is a “community songwriting workshop for people from all walks of life. Musicians, artists, students, teachers, retired folks, neurodiverse, differently-abled, blue and white-collar workers participate every week in writing a song. The Same Thing Project provides a place where you don’t have to be skilled at a musical instrument in order to be musical. It’s a space where you can be part of a creative community that is open, nonjudgmental and encouraging.  Connection is created and isolation is reduced.”

“I’m proud to be part of this group of folks from literally all walks of life. We made something so human, real, pure and beautiful,” said Cutler.

The album is available on Spotify and YouTube.

“I’m thrilled to have our second album “Seasons of Hope” released by the Same Thing Project. I love and I’m proud that it’s a collaboration in the purest sense of the word. Everyone who was in that room when we wrote and recorded these songs is responsible for the music that’s captured here. I think this beautiful in all its imperfections, honesty, humor and love,” Cutler told GoLocal. “I want to thank Ray Memery from Avatar residential and a bandmate of mine for helping to get funding together for this and Carrie Hyde-Reilly from Outsider Collective for providing the space for the Same Thing Project to gather and create.”

Cutler said the album was made possible by “all the different populations represented, from old to young, left to right developmentally disabled, blue and white color all work together to create a song.”
