With the summer winding down, it's almost time for the kids to head back to school, therefore, now is a great time to plan some one day trips to different places all over New England.
To help you, GoLocalProv has compiled a list of great one day trips around New England all within 100 miles and about a two hour drive from Providence.
Places range from Battleship Cove to Mount Auburn Cemetery to Mystic Connecticut and more! Check out the list below and plan your trip accordingly!

17 Miles
Battleship Cove
Make the 17 mile trip to Fall River, Massachusetts and explore Battleship Cove as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. Check out the Pearl Harbor experience, an outdoor immersion experience that includes 4-D sound, multi media and special water effects.
After that, walk around and through the historic battleships like the USS Massachusetts and the Hiddensee as well as other great exhibits.

Historic Downtown Mystic
Take a ride to Mystic Connecticut and walk around historic mystic village.
The village consists of nearly 50 shops, all within walking distance, including book stores, clothing stores and souvenir stores. After shopping, check out any one of 20 restaurants in the village for a great meal.
For desert, be sure to head over to the Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream cafe.

Lexington & Concord
Take the one hour and ten minute ride from Providence and treat yourself to a history lesson by visiting the place that triggered the American Revolution on April 19, 1775, concord and lexington.
Once there, head to Minute Man National Historic Park and then head over to The Old Manse where famous authors Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hathorne wrote.

Take a day trip to Hartford, Connecticut and see where Mark Twain lived from 1874-1891.

Newburyport Massachusetts
About an hour and 50 minute ride from Providence, Newburyport Massachusetts is the birthplace of the US Coast Guard.
While there, check out the Custom House Maritime Museum and the Historical Society of Old Newbury Museum.
After the museum's take a stroll through Maudslay State Park and enjoy the scenery.
