It's an international first full of fun this weekend, when Mexico will make its polo debut on Saturday, September 14th at 4pm in the Newport International Polo Series.
The Saturday match will feature USA vs. Mexico on the polo grounds of historic Glen Farm at 715 East Main Road/Rte.138 in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
A new silver cup, and celebrations
After 6 periods called chukkers, the match will conclude with a champagne trophy presentation of the inaugural USA vs. Mexico silver cup, as well as the naming of the Best Playing Pony. A Fiesta Lollatallulah is planned for after the match, at the field-side Twisted Pony Bar with entertainment and tacos from the renowned Tallulah’s on Thames, by advanced reservation online only. Polo match tickets sold separately online or at the gate.

Ready to rumble
“We are excited to have the team from Mexico making its long-awaited debut in our international lineup this season,” said Dan Keating, USA team captain and founder of the Polo Series. "There has been a huge response by our fans already, in anticipation for this match. Their debut has been planned for a long time, and we are glad that the weather forecast is ideal for this very special occasion.”
A door prize gift card from Massage Envy will also be awarded during the match, as well as prizes for the Best Tailgate, including a bottle of Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte and tickets to the 43rd annual Newport International Boat Show.
