Bollywood in Newport: newportFILM to Hold 4th Annual “Friend-Raiser”

newportFILM will hold its 4th annual "Friend-Raiser" event this Saturday, March 7, from 7-11pm at Christie’s Restaurant at 14 Perry Mill Wharf in Newport. This year's theme is Bollywood, and guests are encouraged to dress in Indian garb, wear vibrant colors, and try out henna tattoos.
At midnight, a raffle will be held, with prizes including gift certificates for local restaurants, a Newport shopping spree, an “instant wine cellar”, and an overnight trip for two to New York City by train to see “Rachel Ray” and a Broadway show.
Proceeds from the event will support the arts, allowing newportFILM to "expand on Newport's proud history of culture and artistic patronage by bringing new and timeless voices in film to the Rhode Island community."
