Another wonderful drive for fall foliage is along Route 12 in Cranston, through Scituate and along the dam at the southern end of the Scituate Reservoir. Central to the drive is Confreda Farms.

In addition to the pumpkin picking, hay ride and corn maze, Confreda also offers amusement rides and games, along with a concession stand.

Breezy Gardens

Each year, Breezy Gardens harvests more than 100 tons of pumpkins. Their pick-your-own pumpkin patch is fun for the whole family.

Breezy Gardens hosts an annual Pumpkin Festival. The festival runs every weekend in October. Admission is free.

Activities include:

Free Hay Rides- Take a tour through the scenic fields on your way to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Rides typically last about 15 minutes and are fun for all ages. Hayrides run from 12:00PM to 5:00PM each weekend of the festival, not including Fridays.

A Mini Corn Maze-Perfect for young children who love mazes! Open daily.

Pumpkin Decorating- After you return from the pick-your-own patch, sit down and decorate your pumpkin with stickers, markets, paint, and more!

Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin Patch- Accessible by taking the hay ride or by walking, it is open until 5:00PM everyday.

Face Painting- On select weekends, free face painting is offered.

Roger Williams Park Zoo Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular

Beautifully carved pumpkins light up the night at the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at Roger Williams Park Zoo, October 2 through November 2.

The 2014 presentation, titled “Jack-O-Lanterns from A to Z,” will delight new and repeat visitors alike. Scenes filled with intricate pumpkin art will be arrayed in alphabetical order, with highlights from history and popular culture, and another section will honor inspirational figures.

Popular annual features will return, as well as the show’s dazzling grand finale, the Laughing Tree. Hundreds of glowing jack-o-lanterns on the ground and high up in the trees surround carved giants (well over 1,000 pounds) amid spooky fog and music, punctuated by its iconic catchy beat and laughter.
