VIDEO: “We Want to Bring Americans to Visit Our Country” Says Cabo Verde's Minister of Tourism
Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) marked the inaugural flight of Cabo Verde Airlines’ new international service connecting Providence to Cabo Verde on May 4.
This milestone represents the return of transatlantic service between Rhode Island and Cabo Verde for the first time since 2019 and reflects growing international connectivity for the region.

On Monday, GoLocal News Editor Kate Nagle spoke with Dr. Jose Luis Sá Nogueira, Cabo Verde's Minister of Tourism and Transport, about the impact of the flights.
"It’s a beautiful destination - sun, mountains, culture, [and] good food," said Sá Nogueira.
Senior representatives from Cabo Verde Airlines, the Government of Cabo Verde, the United States Department of State, RI elected officials, and industry partners were in attendance on Monday.
