Whether your child is six months old, six years old, or 16 years old, sleep is vital.  It’s a time for physical and emotional growth and development, a time to rejuvenate the brain and prepare for the days ahead.  But for many children and teenagers, sleep can be an ongoing struggle, and families may feel challenged to know how to help their child get a good night’s rest.

Women & Infants Hospital and the Brown Center for the Study of Children at Risk are hosting “Kids and Sleep,” a free evening of information and support for parents. The program will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2010 from 6:30 to 9 pm in the South Pavilion Education Center at Women & Infants Hospital, 101 Dudley St, Providence.

A phenomenal opportunity for parents

"If you are a parent, and are facing sleep challenges with your children, this is a phenomenal opportunity to learn from the experts," said Julie Eckles, Education and Community Outreach Coordinator at Women & Infants Hospital. "Our panel, from the Brown Center for Children will offer guidance and will also be available to answer questions that you may have about your kids and their sleep patterns."

"This is a free event and we welcome parents with children of all ages." Eckles added. "We look forward to helping Rhode Island families get the rest they need!"  She also reminds everyone to please call her at 276-7800, ext114 to register.  Seating is limited and the registration deadline is January 22, 2011.
