It’s National Pumpkin Seed Day and Two Local Food Companies Have Teamed Up for a Special Pizza

October 4 is officially "National Pumpkin Seed Day."
"The first Wednesday in October, on October 4 this year, serves up a yummy delight as food lovers mark National Pumpkin Seed Day," writes National Day. "The delicious treats make the perfect snack for the season. Foodies across the country will definitely have tons of experience with the tasty flavor of roasted pumpkin seeds. Add the fact that these seeds have tons of health benefits and it’s little wonder that it gets a whole day to itself."
In Rhode Island, two local food favorites -- Flatbread Company Providence and Gerbs Allergy Friendly Foods -- have teamed up for a fun, limited-time pumpkin seed pizza offering.

And just what is in it?
According to Flatbread, it contains "@wardsberryfarm maple roasted Brussels sprouts, @zephyrfarmri crispy shallots, local cranberries and is finished with @gerbsallergyfriendlyfoods pumpkin seeds and house-made Green Goddess drizzle."
If you're feeling meaty, they also have the "Carne" this week which is “Kale Earnhardt Sr.” which has its "pulled pork shoulder, Ward’s lacinato kale, @steereorchard apples and Vermont goat cheese."
