Top PC Communications Pro Steve Maurano Stepping Down
Steve Maurano is stepping down as associate vice president for government relations, public affairs, and media relations at Providence College at the end of this academic year.
He served in the role for the past 14 years. But before joining PC, he held top positions, including associate commissioner, at the Rhode Island Board of Governors for Higher Education.

And prior to the that, he was a partner at the Providence-based public relations firm Duffy & Shanley.
Maurano told GoLocal, “I am ready to retire. I will not be completely leaving the College as I will continue to teach a public relations course.”
Maurano, who has been an institution in Rhode Island, is also known as a fanatical baseball fan, especially with his encyclopedic knowledge of the Boston Red Sox.
“Steve Maurano is a pro’s pro. He has been a consummate professional and a tremendous ambassador for Providence College,” said Josh Fenton, CEO and co-founder of GoLocal. “Media professionals will miss him.”
