Seven days later, it was under contract, according to Mott & Chace Sotheby's International Realty.
GoLocal had the exclusive with Ben Kean, who has the listing.
“The Perron family — who were the basis for the books and movies — they held onto it until 1985,” said Kean. “It was sold privately to a family that owned it when the first movie came out.”
According to the house lore that was turned into a movie, the Perrons moved into the Harrisville abode in 1971 when they experienced paranormal activity —and reached out to “demonologists” to try and exorcise the property.
Now, the successful “Conjuring Universe” movie series — which this year saw the latest movie, “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” released, has helped make the house a popular destination for paranormal experts and ghost hunters alike.
“The current owners have owned it for a little over two years,” said Kean. “When they got it, they knew that they could open it up to paranormal researchers — there’s a whole world for that interest.”
