RI-Based Carpionato Group Begins Work on Connecticut's Avon Village Center

“We have worked for many years with the Town of Avon to ensure this gem of land becomes a planned lifestyle center/streetscape development. The project spans 97 acres and includes innovative public spaces including a park and the newly redeveloped Farmington Valley Bikeway. This represents what the town was looking for in the creation of a true town center,” said Kelly Coates, Carpionato Group President, and CEO.
Carpionato Group received Master Plan approval from the Avon Town Council for this project in 2015.

Phase I of this project will be anchored by a 45,000 square foot Whole Foods Market - one of five new architecturally unique retail buildings totaling approximately 119,000 square feet that will be constructed along with corresponding road and utility infrastructure.
Phase I of the expansion will be completed by late fall 2020.
The first phase of this project will also include a mix of local, regional and national retailers as well as a first-class professional office and medical office space.
The Avon Village Center includes a number of large and small public gathering places, including a new 15-acre public park, which includes a passive recreation trail system and integration of the Farmington Valley Greenway Trail along historic Nod Brook.
Currently, Avon Village Center includes 100,000 sq. ft. of retail shops, restaurants, and small professional office and medical office tenants in 13 buildings.
Once the initial retail is completed by mid-2020, Carpionato Group will then begin construction on Phase II, which will include retail, office and residential units, located further on the property.
