Residential Properties Ltd. announced the addition of Sales Associate Monique Braese to the team of real estate experts at our East Greenwich office. Her people-first approach first took shape in the medical field in the Neuroscience Unit and Neuroscience ICU, where for 20 years she provided the highest level of patient care. Today, she is 100% focused on helping you achieve your goals and dreams.

To get to know one of RPL’s newest agents, we did a Q&A with Monique about what drives her and the skills she offers clients.

What made you choose to join Residential Properties?

“The company provides technology and services to facilitate the real estate process. RPL's full-time, in-house marketing services include social media promotion, strategic print advertising, digital ad campaigns, and more to help you target the ideal audience and get customers to the closing table.”

Tell us about your professional experience up to now.

“I worked in the medical field for 20 years as a caregiver, traveling Certified Nurse’s Aide, Patient Care Technician, and Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician. I’ve always had a good mind for absorbing knowledge and staying on top of minute details, which is critical in the medical field, but helping people has always been what drives me. In real estate, there’s a true fulfillment I get from advising people through the process and finally handing them the keys to their forever home.”

Where are you from originally?

“I was born and raised in Western Mass in a colorful, eclectic, liberal town called Northampton, ‘where the coffee is strong but the women are stronger.’ It’s a five-college area surrounded by Smith College, Amherst College, UMass, Mount Holyoke College, and Hampshire College. Many artists and musicians flock to Northampton because of its inspiring scenery and attractive venues, which in turn makes it attractive to tourists.”

Can you tell us about your community involvement or favorite causes?

“I volunteer and donate to community services for the Kent County Community Outreach Committee in events such as Earth Day Clean-up. In the past, I’ve volunteered at events with the LGBTQ+ community in Northampton, MA. I also make frequent donations to The Ocean Clean Up, 4Ocean, Sea Shepherd, and The Alzheimer’s Association.”

What do you think is so special about Southern New England?

“New England is a perfect place to live if you enjoy spontaneous weather conditions and four different seasons of climates. It allows for so many different types of activities; you’ll never get bored living here. Not only are we close to the beach and the mountains, but we also have fabulous bike paths and hiking trails to explore.

I’ve always considered the size of Rhode Island an advantage. In one day, you can shop and have brunch in beautiful downtown Providence, drive 30 minutes to enjoy a few hours at the beach, have some oysters, drive another 20 minutes to a conservational forest for a quick hike, and be home by 6 p.m. for dinner. We also have a diverse patchwork of cultures and heritages. There is a real strength of companionship in our communities as we stick together through the worst and best of times. Rhode Islanders are incredibly friendly and a big part of why I love our state.”

What is your non-work life like these days?

“My husband and I live in Conimicut Village in Warwick, so we’re lucky to have the gorgeous Providence River practically in our backyard. We’re both active and enjoy camping, hiking, and other outdoor activities whenever we can. But, honestly, a night in with my cats is my cup of tea, too. We have three – a Maine coon, a black Bombay, and a tabby.

In my free time, I love being with my family, especially my two-year-old nephew. Family is most important to me, above all other things. Real estate and family go hand in hand; a home without a family is just an empty house. Everyone deserves a place to call home. I’ll never forget my first home-buying experience and how much it made me appreciate the comfort and security a home provides.”

What are you looking forward to now that you’ve affiliated with Residential Properties?

“My short-term goal is to expand my business to provide my services in Massachusetts and Connecticut. My long-term goal is to become part of the REALTORS® association and become a broker. But above all, my goal in real estate is to provide my clients with the best possible version of myself so I can help them achieve all their goals.”
