NEW: WHJY’s Paul & Al Renew Contract for Four More Years

Many Providence locals can’t imagine starting their day without the sound of 94 HJY’s “Paul and Al Morning Show” resonating on the morning airwaves. Now they won’t have to.
94 HJY announced today that Paul Fuller and Al Milukas have extended their contracts until 2015 – a year that will mark the duo’s 25th anniversary with the Providence rock and roll station.
Setting the standard
“Paul and Al have set the standard for excellence in mornings in Providence,” said Clay Hunnicutt, Senior Vice President of Programming of Clear Channel Radio. “Their community leadership and ratings success are unparalleled.”

Their show features a popular “Stump the DJ” comedy bit and song parodies characterized by their unique brand of humor. Their producer, comedy writer Kevin Mulhern, and sidekick, Jim Shorts on Sports, add flair to their popular show.
The Paul and Al Morning Show has had significant ratings success, including a No. 1 rating with people 25-53 and 18-49 throughout 2011. Paul and Al are both actively involved in the Providence community, famous for their 28 ½ Hour Radio Marathon to benefit local homeless shelter and rehab facility The Amos House.
Hall of Famers
“When Paul and Al came to Providence, many doubted that [they] would make it,” Menna said. “Over 20 years later they have led 94 HJY to our best ratings ever and have been inducted into the Rhode Island Radio Hall of Fame.”
“They have become as synonymous with Rhode Island as the quahog, coffee milk, and Narragansett Beer. We are elated to have them for another four years.”
