GUESS is closing at the Providence Place Mall.

The chain clothing store, that was started and made popular in the 1980s, had been on the first floor of Providence Place Mall, next to Tiffany & Co.

According to PPM General Manager Mark Dunbar, the official date for closing for GUESS, which had been an original tenant since 1999, is Sunday July 31.

Brooks Brothers, which is currently at the mall, will move into the space that GUESS had leased. Dunbar says there is a tenant lined up for the existing Brooks Brothers location that PPM is in the process of finalizing.

GUESS leaving marks the lastest shake-up for the mall, after anchor JC Penney left in 2015, and Joe's American Bar and Grill closed earlier this year.

PPM has brought on new tenants, including Lego Store that opened last year; it is also now selling e-cigarettes through White Horse Vapor.
