NEW: Gas Prices Remain Same For Second Straight Week

Gas prices remain unchanged for the second consecutive week signifying a period of stability, according to AAA Southern New England.

The September 6 survey of prices in Rhode Island found self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $3.73 per gallon, the same price as the last two weeks. The current price is seven cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $3.66. A year ago at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.65.

The range in prices in the latest local AAA survey for unleaded regular is 30 cents, from a low of $3.599 to a high of $3.899.

By comparison, one week after falling three cents, gasoline prices in Massachusetts are back up by the same three cents this week, AAA reports.
