NEW: Gas Prices Increase by 5 Cents

For the first time in two months, gas prices are on the rise, according to AAA Southern New England. Over the last week the average Rhode Island gas prices have gone up by 5 cents.

As of July 11, the average price of self-serve, regular unleaded gas in RI is $3.75 per gallon. That figure is 12 cents above the national average of $3.63. Last year at this time Rhode Island’s average price was $2.73.

The local gas prices have a 28-cent range, from $3.61 to $3.89.
