The average price of regular unleaded gas in Rhode Island today was $3.70 a gallon, 35 cents less than the 2011 peak of $4.05 in early May. But the current price is still 14 cents above the national average.

One year ago, the average price in Rhode Island was $2.74. Today’s prices had a 31-cent range, from $3.58 to $3.89 a gallon.
