The sale of ABC6 has claimed another high-profile member of the news team.

Hello friends! I have a different kind of news story to share with you today. This one is personal.

After nearly 27 years, today is my last day at ABC6.

I’ve had some amazing experiences and opportunities here, and I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with so many fun and talented people over the years, including all the co-anchors I've had the pleasure of working with: Wendy, Doreen, Allison, Karen, Allie, Lizzie, Christina, Alana and Tiffany.

You've each made me a better journalist and person, as have the meteorologists, sportscasters, reporters, photogs, producers, editors, directors, managers, assignment editors, engineers, promotion, sales, traffic, master control, IT, production, and web professionals I have called friends and teammates over the years.

When you stay in the industry for some time, you eventually become the most experienced person in the newsroom. That’s given me the opportunity to take on the role of mentor to many talented up and coming journalists. It’s been incredibly rewarding to play a small part in helping so many of them achieve their goals and dreams. I know I got way more out of it than they did.

I want to thank all of our loyal viewers who've put their trust in me for nearly three decades and allowed me into their homes each night to deliver the news and share special events with you like the Bristol 4th of July Parade, Election Nights, Oscar Night and the MDA Telethon, not to mention all of the school visits, charity walks, fundraisers, emceeing for the SNE Heart Ball or Opening Day for Barrington Little League. Being part of your lives has been an honor and a pleasure.

As I was going through all of my pictures to put together a collage of my time at ABC6, I smiled repeatedly over seeing old friends and remembering so many good times. Who knows what the next chapter will bring? I’m excited to turn the page and see what’s next.

So it’s goodbye for now. I wish you all the very best. Thank you Southern New England! Good night. Sleep well.
