Designer Zack Lo Debuts in RI

Taiwanese footwear designer Zack Lo has been making a splash since his North American debut, nowhere more apparent than here in the New England. With ground-breaking designs described as everything from “rebellious” to “Tokyo-side-street-boutique-chic,” Lo has been decidedly selective about where to retail his extraordinarily unique collection.
Lo's "Vodoo" Vision
Lo told GoLocalProv.com that comfort is key in creating each hand-crafted, fabulous design, many of which include synthetic fur, beads, die-cut leather and exciting accoutrements (like feathers) woven into each design. Karma Couture on Main Street in East Greenwich is the exclusive Rhode Island retailer to carry Lo. “We really want to have fun where we’re selling,” says Lo’s marketing manager, impromptu translator, and president of RI Fashion, Everett Hoag. “The atmosphere is everything right now; it’s 'voodoo circus,' not a 'prim and proper' line.” Hoag calls it “a little adventurous,” and says Lo's designs “invite a little mischief."

"Karma Couture," Hoag said, "is such a mischievous wonder of energy, and that really matters.” Hoag describes the colorful collection “old Hollywood meets Tokyo’s funky, uptown club vibe” and says the price point, which ranges around $300, is intentionally relatively affordable for the luxury line.
