He was the lead hair stylist on Sex and the City 2, he made Anne Hathaway fabulous on film, and now he's GoLocalProv's weekly style expert. Frank Barbosa, the Newport-based celebrity stylist, brings red carpet perspective to hair, makeup, and overall style.
So it's that time, again! 'Tis the season of chapel-worthy hair, when brides are clamoring for that perfect bridal bun that will outdo any other bride.
Let's be honest here: this is a time when one wants to outshine any bride who's ever trod a petal-strewn path before her. It's imperative to take into account every detail, especially when it comes to one's looks on that day of days. Not only are you on display on your Big Day, but with social media what it is, never have those pictures meant as much and have been seen by so many.
With all this in mind, here are some bridal tips to think of, as early as when you're working on the design concept for your wedding.
Color
What are your faves, and will they work to help you shine even more on that day? For example, for dark-haired beauties jewel tones are gorgeous, from flowers to makeup and maids' dresses. Remember: everything is so visual on that day!

Believe it or not, lighting is key as well. Remember: visual visual visual - a fantastic makeup artist will be able to help you out with contouring that will make you look like you are traveling with your own personal light (it's a film trick we use on every starlet!).
Versatility
Why wear the same do all day, even on your wedding day? Work with your stylist to set you on a journey with your look that day. Think - you will be removing your veil and maybe getting comfortable as the night evolves, so your hair should look like it is on that same journey. You want to match from head to toe at all times on your day.
You!
Most of all, you want your look to represent you. It should be an extension of your most polished look on any given day so that you look confident, and most of all you look like you.
Stay tuned next week for all the latest trends in bridal hair! xx
