‘Biggest Loser’ Star Elizabeth Ruiz to Join Dress for Success Power Walk

Local reality TV star Elizabeth Ruiz of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" will lend her star power (and fitness level) to Dress for Success Rhode Island's 5K Power Walk this weekend, at Lincoln Woods.
“We’re walking in celebration of women who get a second chance,” said Terri Stone, board president of Dress for Success Rhode Island. “That’s what this day is all about, walking in honor of women empowered by Dress for Success, in hopes that they have a brighter future.” Local stylist Jill Marinelli, who styled Ruiz after her appearance on the popular TV show, serves on the board of Dress for Success, along with Margaret Batting, professional style consultant.
Equipping underprivileged women with suits and self-sufficiency
The event helps raise money and visibility for Dress for Success RI, the local affiliate of an international non-profit organization that helps equip underprivileged women with suits and self-sufficiency. The 2011 Power Walk is being held in more than 30 Dress for Success affiliate cities across the country and around the world. Jillian Michaels of NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” serves as the national spokesperson and stars in a national Public Service Announcement promoting the worldwide event.
