Friars’ Big East, non-league schedule announced

It's a heck of a way to open up the Big East season.
The Big East Conference has announced the schedule of conference games for the upcoming 2012-13 men's basketball season, and the Providence Friars will face two of the league's favorites in their opening three games of the year.
So much for easing into a schedule.
PC will open on the road against pre-season favorite-to-be Louisville (a Final Four team from last season) on Wednesday, Jan. 2. Following the home opener against DePaul on Saturday, Jan. 5, the Friars will then host Syracuse on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
Providence College has also released it's non-conference schedule, with some start times announced as well. The Friars will play an exhibition on Oct. 27 at the newly-refurbished Alumni Hall against Assumption College, and another at the Dunk against Rhode Island College on Nov. 3 before opening up the regular season against NJIT on Nov. 10.
