Which Candidate Is Most Rhode Island? First Congressional District

Thursday, August 26, 2010

The race for Congress in the 1st district is crowded and competitive. From Providence Mayor David Cicilline to businessman Anthony Gemma the claims of understanding the plight of Rhode Islanders are everywhere, but who really knows Rhode Island best?  John Loughlin hails from Tiverton but has some clear RI gaps in his resume versus Gemma, Cicilline, and Lynch who are born and breed Rhode Islanders. Also, as speech expert Pamela Howell's assessment unveils each of these Most Rhode Island candidates have some true accents. SEE HER VIDEO.

Loughlin and Segal lag behind. How far behind? Gemma (38), Cicilline (37) and Lynch (36) are all bunched at the top of the Most Rhode Island scoring, Loughlin scores 18 and Segal's score of 6 raises the question, is he a candidate for congress or just a guy stopping at the visitors center looking for a map.

Could have saved you the trouble, GLP.

Like the vast majority of Rhode Islanders, Anthony Gemma is a non-politician who CAN see the thinning forest for the blighted trees.

In all fairness, Lynch and Cicilline deserve to share the title of "Candidate Who is Most Rhode Island POLITICIAN." After all, they place self-interest over public interest, they lie about their records and their opponents -- even after they're caught in the acts by the media -- and they simply could not exist without each other.

The deeper meaning of this GLP evaluation should not go unnoticed.

You have predicted the order of finish of the four Dems -- even though, as certain polls now suggest, Gemma's margin of victory over Cicilline likely will approach double digits.
