The race for Congress in the 1st district is crowded and competitive. From Providence Mayor David Cicilline to businessman Anthony Gemma the claims of understanding the plight of Rhode Islanders are everywhere, but who really knows Rhode Island best? Loughlin and Segal lag behind. How far behind? Could have saved you the trouble, GLP.
Like the vast majority of Rhode Islanders, Anthony Gemma is a non-politician who CAN see the thinning forest for the blighted trees.
In all fairness, Lynch and Cicilline deserve to share the title of "Candidate Who is Most Rhode Island POLITICIAN." After all, they place self-interest over public interest, they lie about their records and their opponents -- even after they're caught in the acts by the media -- and they simply could not exist without each other.
The deeper meaning of this GLP evaluation should not go unnoticed.
You have predicted the order of finish of the four Dems -- even though, as certain polls now suggest, Gemma's margin of victory over Cicilline likely will approach double digits.
