Poverty Institute to Host Budget Conference

On Friday, March 4, The Poverty Institute will be hosting its 4th annual “Budget Rhode Map.”
This state budget conference aims to inform Rhode Islanders of the fiscal challenges facing the state. At the conference, state leaders will address the options of the state to balance its budget and build a strong economy. The Conference will start at 8:15 a.m. with registration and breakfast, followed by scheduled presentations:
The State of State Budgets
Tax Expenditures: Reporting, Interpretation and Analysis
Leveling the Playing Field through Corporate Tax Reform
The Pension Dimension
The conference will take place at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI. Area residents, local and state policymakers, nonprofit leaders and staff, social service providers and members of the media are all encouraged to attend.
