Karen Meyers

GoLocalProv has learned that WLNE-TV has fired anchor Karen Meyers. She had been with the station since 2011.

Meyers had anchored the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. news with John DeLuca. Sources say station management opted not to renew her contract and decided to go in another direction.

Before Meyers joined ABC6, she was a reporter/anchor with New England Cable News and was a reporter in Washington, DC.

This move is part of a recent chaotic history at WLNE. Dating back to when Meyers was hired, the station fired her predecessor Alison Alexander. The station changed ownership to Citadel Communications, GoLocalProv discovered the station plagiarized an investigative report and got the facts wrong. And GoLocalProv reported on one of ABC6's executives who was involved in the wind turbine fight in Fairhaven, MA.

GoLocalProv reached out to WLNE Vice President/General Manager Chris Tzianabos and he did not return a call for comment.
