NEW:(add)ventures Wins Emmy for EDC Commercial

Tuesday, June 05, 2012

(add)ventures, a multidisciplinary brand communications firm, received a Boston/New England Emmy Award June 2 for Outstanding Commercial for its production of “Knowledge Providence.” The high-impact video was created for the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC) to help promote the Knowledge District, an area in the heart of Providence encompassing 19 acres of real estate where Route 195 used to cut through Providence.

"'Knowledge Providence' is a reflection of the tremendous talent, passion and potential of Rhode Island's capital city," said Steve Rosa, founder and CEO of (add)ventures. "This could not have been produced without the cooperation of so many companies and organizations in Providence."

Shot, produced and edited in 72 hours, “Knowledge Providence” depicts Cranston, Rhode Island, native and Broadway actor Dan Mills – walking by small and large businesses, restaurants, universities, hospitals, and iconic Providence destinations.

“It was exciting to see the creativity that (add)ventures has put forth to help attract businesses to Rhode Island by highlighting it as a key, competitive regional destination,” said Judy Chong, managing director of marketing, communications and evaluation at the RIEDC. "This has been a terrific marketing tool to help us build momentum and excitement for Providence and showcase the vitality and vibrancy of this walkable city."

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) Boston/New England Chapter is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television, the fostering of creative leadership in the television industry, and the encouragement of excellence in artistic, educational, cultural and technical progress. Entries are measured against a standard of excellence and do not compete against each other. There may be one award, more than one award, or no award given in each category. The Commercial Emmy is given for excellence in commercial production advertising a product, business or service that is conceived, written, created and produced in and for the regional market.
