The Federal Bureau of Investigation is leading the effort to track down who is responsible for mailing bombs to top Democratic leaders including the Obamas and the Clintons.

The FBI said in a statement, “This investigation is of the highest priority for the FBI. We have committed the full strength of the FBI’s resources and, together with our partners on our Joint Terrorism Task Forces, we will continue to work to identify and arrest whoever is responsible for sending these packages,” said FBI Director Christopher Wray. “We ask anyone who may have information to contact the FBI. Do not hesitate to call; no piece of information is too small to help us in this investigation.”

The packages were mailed in manila envelopes with bubble wrap interior. The packages were affixed with computer-printed address labels and six Forever stamps. All packages had a return address of “DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ” [sic] in Florida. Packages identified to date were addressed to:

George Soros
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton
Former President Barack Obama
Former CIA Director John Brennan, care of CNN
Former Attorney General Eric Holder

The package addressed to former Attorney General Holder did not reach its intended destination, but was rerouted to the return address in Florida.

Statement by Congressman David Cicilline:

“During the past few days, explosive devices were delivered to two former Presidents of the United States, two sitting members of the U.S Congress, two former high-level cabinet officials, a news organization, and a progressive activist and philanthropist.  These horrific acts of domestic terrorism have no place in America and must be condemned by every decent, civilized person in our country."

"I want to express my gratitude to the men and women of law enforcement who have already responded to these terrifying acts and are working right now to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators responsible.”

“The President has spent years stoking the flames of political violence. He has encouraged police brutality, refused to condemn the violent actions of Nazis, and offered to pay legal fees for any of his supporters who assaulted a protester. Just days ago, he applauded a Republican Congressman for physically attacking a reporter who was doing his job.”

“Political violence has no place in the United States of America. The President should be doing everything he can to discourage violence and encourage respect and civility in our beautiful country.  This is the time for the President to do all he can to bring our country together and to strongly condemn political violence of any kind.  Regardless of whether or not the President will do this, it is the responsibility of every leader in this country to condemn these acts and do everything possible to promote civil and respectful discourse."
