LIVE: RI NOW President Friedman On Affordable Childcare & Reproductive Freedom
Friday, March 23, 2018
Hilary Levey Friedman, Ph.D., President of the Rhode Island National Organization for Women says in addition to RI NOW's usual focus on reproductive freedom and equal pay, the group is also focused on affordable childcare.
On March 27, Friedman says a group will testify at the House Finance Committee hearing about affordable childcare and challenge Rhode Island to expand and improve affordable childcare across the state.
Friedman says their legislative priorities for 2018 include two bills for reproductive freedom, one on contraception and the Reproductive Health Care Act. They are also working with organizations supporting the fair pay and Fight for $15 coalition this year.
