LIVE: COAAST Founder Talks Addiction Support, & Owning Our Story

Ana Bess Moyer Bell
It was after learning that several people close to her had suffered or lost their lives to addiction that Ana Bess Moyer Bell realized this was more than a one-time phenomenon, and decided to utilize her Master's Degree in Drama Therapy to create an organization that uses theater and community outreach for addiction support.

Moyer Bell is Founder and Executive director of COAAST, (Creating Outreach About Addiction Support Together) and uses performances of the therapeutic theatrical production called “Four Legs to Stand On” to break down the shame surrounding addiction and open a line of communication with talk-back discussions.

COAAST collaborated with The RI Department of Health to create a free public event called, Owning Our Story: About the Overdose Epidemic, which features guest speakers, a vigil integrating therapeutic music, and an adapted version of their flagship play to help educate the community about addiction.

Owning Our Story will be at The Vets Auditorium on January 15, and is free to the public.
