It's fun-knit one, good-cause-purl two.

The Great Rhody Yarn Crawl is a wonderful stitching together of knitters with their favorite yarn shops across Rhode Island in a three-day extravaganza that takes the pub crawl and gives it fiber. The goal: to visit as many participating stores as possible over the weekend of April 15-17. And support RI Food Bank along the way by donating non-perishable food at each stop.

Participating shops

    * Sakonnet Purls (Tiverton)
    * Knitting Corner (Middletown)
    * Bella Yarns ( Warren)
    * Knitting Needles (Newport)
    * Mermaids Purl ( Wickford)
    * Knit one Purl too (Wakefield)
    * Knit Wits (Westerly)
    * Unwind (East Greenwich)
    * Eneri Knits (Exeter)
    * Fresh Purls (Providence)
    * Yarn Outlet (Pawtucket)
    * Peter Patchis (Central Falls)
    * Yarnia (Woonsocket)

Crawlers will get one free raffle ticket and a passport stamp at each participating store they visit, making them eligible for a Grand Prize Raffle Basket awarded at a culminating event at Slater Mill on Sunday, April 17 from noon-5pm.

For more information on the event, go to ravelry.com and the event Web site, here.
