Rhode Island celebrates local farms year-round, and has a wealth of knowledgeable farmers who want to be on your table now more than ever.
“When you buy local you know where your food is coming from. You can talk to the farmer, and you’re supporting local business,” says Frank Martinelli of PV Farm Stand about the benefits of buying locally sourced food. “Local farms currently feed 1% of the population in Rhode Island right now, and we are trying to get it up to 2% - but we will need more support.”
Eating locally helps to grow our local economy while giving you piece of mind about the quality of your food.
