All proceeds from the event will go Benjamin and his family to help cover the costs of a wheelchair accessible van.

New York Times bestselling author and one of Oprah Winfrey’s “Top 30 Women Writers” Jenna Blum will be appearing on Tuesday, February 24th from 5-7pm for a meet and greet book-signing to support the “B’s Mobility Ride ‘Raise the Dough’ Fundraiser” at Panera Bread on Division Road in East Greenwich.

Benjamin, or “B,” is young boy living with a type of muscular dystrophy called SMA Type 2. All proceeds from the event will go to him and his family to help cover the costs of a wheelchair accessible van for Benjamin.

“Reading with Robin” columnist and radio personality Robin Kall first met Benjamin at a “dough raising” even in January. She says, "We had an immediate connection and I knew right then that I wanted to do whatever I could to help make a difference for Benjamin and his family. Helping in their efforts to secure a ramp van for Benjamin's power chair is what this is all about. I hope people will join us, meet Benjamin and author Jenna Blum, decorate some cookies and maybe win a raffle prize. It's going to be a spirited experience.”

Those who donate $20 will be given a signed copy of one of Blum’s books, Those Who Save Us or Grand Central, plus the chance to meet Woodrow the Storm Chasing Dog, Blum’s very own black lab. The first fifty people to attend the event will receive a book (one per person). If you'd like to donate but can't make the event, click here to make a contribution to Benjamin's fundraiser.
