These aren't your elementary school puppets: the comedic mind of Jeff Dunham.

Jeff Dunham at the Dunk

Saturday  Don't miss the return of Jeff Dunham, the man whose standup concerts rule the comedy world, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center in his "Controlled Chaos Tour." Dunham offers his millions of fans brand new laughs and hilarious additions to his famed troupe of sidekicks. Meet two new Dunham characters: Achmed Junior, the not-as-equally skeletal son of Achmed the Dead Terrorist, and Little Jeff, a mini-version of the ringmaster himself.  8pm, Dunkin' Donuts Center, One Lasalle Square, Providence. NewportFILM January Mini-Fest

Friday-Saturday Take the edge off the off-season with this excellent pop-up film festival at the Casino Theater in Newport. Check out Friday's screening of THE ISLAND PRESIDENT, with a 6pm reception (food provided by Salvation Cafe), then the 7pm film followed by Q&A. Saturday, bring the kids to a 1pm screening of ELEANOR'S SECRET, an animated movie about a magic library where all the characters from classic children's books come alive. Boat Show in Providence

MLK Birthday Celebration

Sunday  The RI Civil Rights Roundtable will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday with a free event on how economic disparities affect our communities. The forum continues Dr. King's work near the end of his lifetime of leadership, focused on the economics of discrimination. Noted speaker and author, Rev. A Celebration of Twelfth Night, Westerly
