16 Great Summer Learning Sites

Monday, July 05, 2010

Everyone gets how important keeping kids busy is this summer.

This was underscored by a visit that Education Commissioner Deborah A. Gist made this week with a number of vibrant summer-learning sites, to display and promote what's available for kids as the days get longer, and hotter.

“Learning doesn’t take a vacation,” Gist said. “Learning can be fun, in school and out of school. There are lots of opportunities across our state where, at little or no cost, families and students can have fun and learn this summer. We want people to be sure children are involved in fun and productive activities so that they can retain what they’ve learned and can continue to learn during the summer months.”

Check out the sites that the Commissioner visited, as well as more spots where kids can eat, play, and learn.
