Rhode Island ranks as the 40th fattest state in the United States with an overall score of 39.99, according to a recent study done by WalletHub.
Rhode Island ranks 34th in obesity & and overweight prevalence and 47th in unhealthy habits and consequences.
RI ranks ahead of Washington and Minnesota at 41 and 42 while behind Wyoming and California at 38 and 39 respectively.

The Study
WalletHub's analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia using two key dimensions, including "Obesity & Overweight Prevalence" and "Unhealthy Habits and Consequences."
WalletHub then compiled 12 relevant metrics and attributed a score between 0 and 100 to each metric. The more points a state accrued, the bigger its weight problem is.
