NEW: ABC6 Explains Where Missing Anchor Has Been

ABC6 morning show viewers may have been wondering where anchor Doreen Scanlon has been for the last 5 weeks or so.
Well, the answer has now been made public.
Last night, the station aired a report explaining why Scanlon is off the air and on the station’s Web site a story is now posted explaining where she has been. According to the station’s Web site, Scanlon is expecting and has a rare form morning sickness and is on bed rest and stuck at home.
Viewers have written to the station expressing their concern for her who says she has been spending a lot days in bed sick hooked up to an IV.
Channel 6 reporter Shannon O’Brien sat down with Scanlon at home and did a nice job putting the story together, including where Scanlon gets quite emotional at times. In the story, Scanlon says her baby is due in the fall and the baby is healthy which is of course good news. She gets medicine through her IV 8 to 10 hours a day and the baby also gets nutrients through the IV.
Scanlon is married to Channel 10 Reporter Parker Gavigan.
