A Blizzard Warning is in effect for all of Rhode Isalnd and nearby Massacusetts with the exception of Block Island and Cape Cod and the Islands. Light snow should begin Sunday morning and become very heavy from late in the day through the night into Monday morning. In addition winds will gust 30-60 mph Sunday tonight and much of Monday. If the storm intensifies as expected, snowfall should accumulate 1-2 feet before it ends later Monday. There still is the possibility of a period of mixed precipitation or rain on Block Island and over the Cape and Islands, so that situation will have to be monitored carefully during Sunday. That would cut accumulations in those areas if it does occur. This is potentially a very dangerous storm and everyone should stay updated on the latest weather information.
