URI Wins 5th in a Row, Beats #9 Delaware with Last Minute Interception

The University of Rhode Island football team won its 5th straight game to open the 2021 season.

The Rams defeated the #9 Delaware Blue Hens 22-15 in Kingston.

The game wasn’t decided until the final seconds when URI’s Jordan Jones picked off a Delaware pass in the end zone.

URI led 12-0 in the first half, then saw the lead evaporate in the second half as Delaware ran off 15 straight points.

Then, URI turned the table and scored 10 straight.

With the win, the Rams will be knocking on the door for a top 10 ranking in the country.

Next up for the Rams is Towson in Maryland next Saturday.
