The Rams scored 17 points in the quarter, which saw three lead changes. Rhody trailed 13-7 entering the quarter, but senior fullback Chris Mancuso rumbled in from 2 yards out to put the Rams up 14-13 with 10:35 to go.

William & Mary (4-5, 2-4 CAA) came right back with a touchdown when Brent Caprio hit tight end Nolan Kearney with a 5-yard touchdown pass with 7:45 to go. A two-point conversion gave the Tribe a 21-14 lead.

Rhody scored again little more than two minutes later on a 16-yard scoring strike from quarterback Bob Bentsen to Ty Bynum.

On William & Mary's ensuing possession, the defense came up big. After holding to a three-and-out, A blocked punt by freshman Andrew Bose - URI's second block of the game - set the Rams up at William & Mary's 26-yard line for the game-winning drive.
