Two of the biggest powers in Division I lacrosse met on Thursday night -- #6 Duke and #3 Loyola -- and both teams are led this season by players with Rhode Island connections.

Duke upset Loyola 12-7, in a nationally televised game in Durham, North Carolina.

Loyola is led by arguably the best player in the country, Pat Spencer. He grew up and played youth lacrosse in the East Greenwich program. He leads all active players with 306 career points.

Spencer scored just a goal and two assists in the game. Spencer does have 18 goals and 22 assists on the year.

The night went to Rhode Island native -- and Duke star -- Joey Manown, who tied his career high with four goals on the night. Manown played youth lacrosse in North Kingstown, played at La Salle Academy and graduated from Deerfield Academy.
