PC Signs Knicks G-League Player

According to multiple reports, including ESPN, Providence College men’s basketball has signed Knicks G-League player — guard Dink Pate.

The pros are now on the Friar roster.

He has played three professional seasons.

This year, Pate played for the G League's Westchester Knicks.

 

His G-League bio states:

Dink Pate (born March 10, 2006) is a guard for the Westchester Knicks. He played for NBA G League Ignite during the 2023-24 NBA G League season, and the Mexico City Capitanes during the 2024-25 NBA G League season. Prior to joining Ignite, Pate was rated a five-star high school prospect in the Class of 2024. In his last season at L.G. Pinkston High School in Dallas, he averaged 20.3 points per game and was named the 2022-23 District 13-4A Most Valuable Player. He was selected to the 2022-23 University Interscholastic League Boys 4A All-Region Team and All-State Team.

 

“Pate was a top-30 recruit in the high school class of 2023 who opted to go the G League Ignite route before playing for the Mexico City Capitanes and Westchester. The 6-foot-8 Pate averaged 16.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 36 games for Westchester this season. He has dramatically improved his 3-point shooting, going from 26.1% last season with the Capitanes to 36.8% this season for the Knicks on nearly eight attempts per game,” reports ESPN.
