Rams Lose in Final Minute

After leading 30-14 at the half, the URI Rams found themselves trailing Maine 35-30 with just over two minutes to go in the game.

The URI offense took over their final possession from their own 21-yard line before quarterback Vito Priore led them on a 10-play drive down to the Maine five-yard line.

With 51 seconds to play, Priore connected with Aaron Parker in the corner of the end zone to put URI up 36-35. The Rams went for a two-point conversion to take a three-point lead, but Priore's pass fell incomplete.

Parker finished the game with two touchdowns and 124 receiving yards.

In Maine’s final possession, the Black Bears drove to the URI 21-yard line where kicker Kenny Doak nailed a 39-yard field goal to give Maine a 38-36 win.

During the drive, the Black Bears were helped by two costly too many men on the field penalties on the Rams that resulted in manageable second and third downs.

In just his second career start, Priore completed 19 of 40 passes for 256 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
