Celtics Ranked 5th Most Valuable Franchise in NBA

The Boston Celtics are the fifth most valuable franchise in the NBA, according to Forbes Magazine’s 2020 rankings released on Tuesday.
According to Forbes, the Celtics are currently valued at $3.1 billion and bring in $304 million in revenue.
Boston has an operating income of $88 million.

The Celtics had no problem selling those extra seats thanks to a waiting list for season tickets despite prices that rank among the top echelon of teams,” writes Forbes.
Forbes adds, “Fans have been treated to a winning product with 11 playoff appearances over the past dozen years. Free-agent point guard Kemba Walker, who signed a four-year, $141 million deal in the summer after eight years in Charlotte, has the Celtics once again near the top of the standings.”
The Rankings
The Celtics are ranked directly behind the Chicago Bulls, who are valued at $3.2 billion and the Golden State Warriors, who are valued at $4.3 billion.
Boston ranked ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers, who are valued at $2.6 billion, and the Brooklyn Nets, who are valued at $2.5 billion.
The two most valuable franchises in the NBA are the New York Knicks at $4.6 billion, and the Los Angeles Lakers at $4.4 billion.
The least valuable franchise in the league is the Memphis Grizzlies, who are valued at $1.3 billion.
Celtics in 2019-20
The Celtics currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 37-16.
They had won seven straight games before losing to Houston on Tuesday night.
