Bryant Falls to #23 Stony Brook 50-21

Bryant falls to Stony Brook
The Bryant Bulldogs fell to #23 Stony Brook 50-21 on Saturday night in New York.

"The kids played hard. There is a lot to learn from. Any time you play a team like, it's exactly the type of team that we want to be. Now we know the areas we got to get better at. Knowing these kids and how hard they work, I know it will be a great week of practice. It was a great day to get guys on the field, offensively and defensively. We played well for many periods of the game,” said Bryant head coach James Perry after the game.

The loss drops Bryant to 1-1 on the season.

Bryant’s Rally Falls Short

After trailing 20-7 at the half, Bryant would rally to take the lead.

Running back Alfred Dorbor punched it in from the two-yard line to put the Bulldogs upon 21-20 in the third quarter, their first lead of the game.

However, the Seawolves would recover.

Stony Brook quarterback Joe Carbone hit Donald Liotine for a 240-yard touchdown pass to give the Seawolves the lead back 27-21 after the extra point.

When Stony Brook forced Bryant to punt on their next possession, the Seawolves Casey Williams blocked the punt and returned it for a touchdown to put Stony Brook up 34-21.

The Seawolves would score on their next two possessions to take control of the game, going up 44-21 following a 27-yard touchdown run by Jordan Gowins.

Stony Brook capped off the scoring with a 95-yard pick six in the final seconds to cruise to the win.
