Brown's Jette Named Ivy League Rookie of the Week

Freshman WR/KR Alexander Jette (North Attleboro, MA) was named the Ivy League's Rookie of the Week Monday after a stellar collegiate debut at Brown.  Jette returned 4 punts for a total of 82 yards (20.5 yards per return) in the Bears' 45-7 route of Georgetown at Brown Stadium.

Jette had returns of 30, 22, 20 and 10 yards for the Bears who dominated field position and the game on Saturday.  Not only was it Brown's season-opener, but it was also Jette's collegiate debut.  It is rare for a freshman to play right away on the varsity, but Jette has earned a spot on both special teams and, on occassion, in the Brown offense.  He attended North Attleboro High School before coming to Brown this fall.

The Bears have a big game this weekend as they open Ivy League play at Harvard Saturday night at 7:30pm.  The game will be nationally televised on the NBC Sports Network.
