Brown's 5 Game Winning Streak Snapped, Lose at Princeton 73-54

Brown falls to Princeton.
The Brown Bears men’s basketball team had its five-game winning streak snapped on Saturday night, losing to Princeton 73-54 in New Jersey.

Brown was led by Brandon Anderson, who netted 16 points in the game.

"I thought Princeton was the more aggressive team at both ends of the court. We struggled at both ends. I'm confident we will learn from this and have a good week to get ready to the next one,” said Brown head coach Mike Martin after the game.

The loss drops Brown to 12-9 overall and 5-3 in the Ivy League, good enough for a third-place tie in the conference with Harvard and Penn.

Princeton moves into a tie for first place with an 11-10 overall record and 6-2 in the Ivy League.

The top four teams make the Ivy League tournament.

Brown Falls to Princeton

Brown led 15-13 on a jumper by Zach Hunsaker with 11:02 to play in the first half.

From there, the Tigers went on a 9-0 run to take a 22-15 lead on a layup by Jose Morales with 7:20 to play in the opening frame.

Brown would get back within five, 22-17, on a jump shot by Tamenang Choh with 6:58 to play.

However, Princeton would respond by scoring six straight points to take a 28-17 lead on a dunk by Jaelin Llewellyn with 5:31 to go.

The Bear would trail 37-24 at the break.

Princeton opened the second half on a 7-2 run to take a 44-26 lead with 17 minutes left in the game.

The Tigers led by as much as 20 points, 52-32, after a Jose Morales three with 12:22 to play in the game.

The Bears would not get closer than 13 points the rest of the way.

Brown shot 36% from the field in the game, while Princeton shot 53% from the field.

Next Up 

The Bears return to action on Friday, February  21 when they visit Columbia University.

Game time is set for 7 p.m.
