Bad Bunny to Perform at Super Bowl LX Halftime Show
The Puerto Rican musician and producer spoke to his roots in the announcement this weekend.
“What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown…this is for my people, my culture, and our history,” he said in an NFL statement regarding the halftime show.

"He was pretty angry about it, but the name stuck."
The Super Bowl is scheduled to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Music and Politics
Bad Bunny, whose music is all in Spanish, is the leading nominee getter for the Latin Grammys in November.
He recently wrapped up a residency in Puerto Rico.
“There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times,” he said in an interview with i-D magazine in September.
“I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the U.S. But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the U.S," he continued. “People from the U.S. could come here to see the show. Latinos and Puerto Ricans of the United States could also travel here, or to any part of the world."
“But there was the issue of — like, [expletive] ICE could be outside. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about."
