Wallin Campaign Hires Deputy Campaign Manager

Erik Wallin, a Republican candidate for Attorney General, today announced his campaign had hired Lammis Vargas as deputy campaign manager. Vargas previously worked for the state Republican Party, as executive director from 2009 to last month and director of operations from 2007 to 2009.

As executive director, Vargas oversaw the day-to-day operations of the party. Vargas, who is of Columbian descent and speaks Spanish, also managed the Diversity Outreach Program for the state party. She is on the board of the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island is a member of the National Federation of Republican Women as well as the Republican National Hispanic Assembly. As deputy campaign manager, Vargas said her responsibilities will include outreach to diverse communities in the state.

"I am very pleased to announce that Lammis Vargas is joining my campaign for Attorney General as Deputy Campaign Manager," Wallin said in a statement. "She is an extraordinarily talented person who brings with her a wealth of political experience. We are excited to have her on board."
