The leadership of the Rhode Island AFL-CIO has endorsed Ralph Mollis in his bid to get re-elected Secretary of State.

In a statement the ALF-CIO said Mollis had made it easier for new companies to do business in Rhode Island, crediting him with helping 22,000 new companies to open shop here over the last four years. The group also praised him for moving the National Association of Secretaries of State convention from the Westin Providence Hotel to the Rhode Island Convention Center, out of respect for a UNITE HERE Local 217 boycott of the Westin.

“Secretary Mollis’ has provided Rhode Island businesses, voters, and workers four years of dedicated service and unparalleled access to Rhode Island government making it easier to start a business, take part in the democratic process, and become an informed citizen,” Rhode Island AFL-CIO President George Nee. “The Rhode Island AFL-CIO proud to stand with Ralph Mollis and will do all it can to ensure that he is Rhode Island's Secretary of State for another four years.”
